Clements Castle

Our sweet little home is changing all the time and we love every minute of all the exciting updates! We have been taking a break for the summer as we just wanted to enjoy our time as a family and it is really to hot to be working on any home improvement stuff anyway! However.... We decided we have a few big project we want to do in the spring so we need to get going on some of the smaller projects around the house.

Matching Shutters anyone???

So when we moved in the room on the left (living room) had white shutters & first room off the the right had brown ones. Not a big deal right? Well the only thing is from the front of the house both rooms shutters show through to the outside. So although it is one of those projects that needed to get done it wasn't in front of any of our big renovation stuff. So now that it is time to take care of some of the small (but need to get done sometime) projects we are taking care of this! I am really excited about it!

So Here is the before: Down with the BROWN!!!!! Hahaha

Both matching now :)

The old frame needed to come down since it was brown and had an out of date style so we are reframing the window to match the rest of the window/door frames in the house.

Small project Number 2 .... The Bathroom Paint Job!

We decided on yellow! Well actually Zach won this one :) We are also adding crown molding to the bathroom. Here are the "in progress" pics. I will post more and finished ones when we are all done. It is a really light yellow called Shiny Silk. Kind of hard to see in the pictures but reminds me of a soft butter :) Mmmmm now I want to make cookies.... :)

No crown molding yet!

Half painted

Under window painted

Before Crown....No paint either.

Small project number 3! Fixing the gap in our bar! Our kitchen floor since it's old (1934) slopes about 2 inches on the left. When we put in the bar we made it level.... well that left us a small gap on the window side of the bar. So we added a piece of crown molding and it looks so much nicer!!!

Before: This is an "old" before picture but I couldn't find the other picture I took. Either way you can see the gap & my little climber....(Photo taken Jan 2012)
