August Vacation Part Two ~ East Coast ~

Part two of our family vacation had us on the east coast. My grandma (Kourtney's great grandma) lives in Ellington, CT.  My Aunt Selma (my moms sister) lives in Virgina and drove down to spend time with us. Amazingly enough my whole immediate family except my mom was able to make it out this week too. It was such a special treat for my grandma to have us all visit at the same time. All her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Zach and I flew out on Tuesday and stayed until Saturday. We mostly just relaxed around the house and talked but we did take grandma to see the beach one day and she loved that!

Here are a few pictures from Connecticut.

August Vacation 2012 ~ Part 1 Minnesota!!!!

The past two weeks Zach, Kourtney, and I went on a family vacation to Minnesota, Connecticut, Rode Island, and Massachusetts.

We left for our vacation two Tuesdays ago and got on a very long flight to Minnesota. We had a stop in Phoenix which is what made the flight so long. However, we made it and Kourtney did well. A little fussy on the first leg of the flight but what can you really expect when you have a almost two year old who wants to explore and they have to sit still for two, three hour flights. We had a lot of things to entertain her and the people near us were really nice so that helped a lot. People always ask what I do with her on the airplane so here are a few things that worked well for us with her this time (21 months).

  • Coloring (washable markers wipe off with a baby wipe)
  • Suckers....yes I know they are not the best but they buy a great deal of quite time and as a special flying aid I'm OK with that :)
  • Stickers. We found that stickers were quite entertaining at this age.
  • Snacks/drinks.
  • Kindle Fire.... We got one for this trip and I think she might just be a little young for this but she did enjoy some of the games on it.

Once we got to MN we had a great time. My little sister was home from China, my little brother has a new girlfriend, my older brothers daughter Aurora is getting so big. I can't believe she is 6 almost 7!!!! It was so nice to see everyone and here about all the new and exciting changes!

I was really lazy in MN and didn't do much as far as running or working out. The few weeks before MN I had been really sick and I think a lot of it was heat induced. MN was nice and cool. I think it broke 80 one while we where there and it was such a nice change for me. I was feeling great and really enjoying relaxing.

I didn't really get a chance to see a lot of my friends when I was home because I wasn't sure how I'd be feeling. I did get to see my girlfriend Lisa for lunch and have a play date with Danielle, Judd, and Danica!

My grandma had her 90th birthday party the Sunday before we left and it was really great to catch up with all my cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Here are a few pictures from the Minnesota part of the trip!

Family--- I am posting all the family pictures I have so you guys can pick which one you want. I realize a lot of them are similar but that way you can save them to your computer if you want.
