Busy Little Bees

I thought when I started blogging years ago that it would be so fun in my spare time to sit down and keep a public journal for friends and family. Never would I have thought I would be so busy. Even in college working two jobs did I feel as I run around as much as I do now. It is a crazy life, one I do love, but that doesn't make it any less crazy.

Right now I am battling a toothache. I think I have a chip or something lodged between two of my back teeth and no matter how hard I brush or floss I can't get it out. I have an appointment on July 10th but that seems soooo far away. I called to see if I could get in sooner and they don't have any open spots until then so I asked to be on the cancellation list. Please pray for me that they call soon.

Zachariah has been a busy little bee working on our yards newest addition.... A hot tub!!!! Yea, we didn't need it but we will love having it! We both really enjoy sitting in a hot tub to relax with a cold beer :) Other news on the home front is that our Turf Wars show aired on Friday It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be so I am relieved about that. We had so much fun doing the show and got the best backyard on the block overnight! Sweet deal if you ask me. :)

I have been thinking about what aspects of the job force I will like after kids and I am ready to work again full time. I have been thinking a lot lately about getting certified as a personal trainer since I love helping all my friends with aspect of health, fitness, and nutrition. We shall see what the future holds......For a job right now I am going to nanny my girlfriend Anna's kids over the summer. Her kids are Ashley who is 6 and Austin who turns 10 tomorrow :) Her kids are really sweet and love Kourtney to pieces so I think it will make for such a fun summer!

Kourtney is the most fiery little 18 month old girl I know. She runs around and climbs on everything. She is learning to use a fork really well and loves to feed herself. So most days we let her even if half of it ends up on the floor. She is really into markers (Thank god for washable ones), water, and bubbles or "bu-buues" as she would say. She is still taking a bottle but I am OK with it. I ofter hear that it is so bad for them but if it comforts her I am OK with it for now. If she's approaching two and still on a bottle then we will talk. I am also contemplating moving Kourtney into a toddle sized bed and out of her crib. She can almost climb out and I think she would really love to be able to climb into her bed on her own. Plus I think in the mornings she might get out of her crib and play independently for a little while before crying for us to come get her. That might be nice. The downside for me I feel would be nap time. I think she would not go down for her nap as easy if she was in a toddle bed. For now we will keep her in the crib but I will keep the idea on the back burner.

Fathers Day weekend...... coming up!!!! We are going camping with the church (Adventures in Marriage) group! Should be fun!!! Pics soon :)

Until next time, I hope everyone is doing well and please pray for my tooth! :)

Celebrating My InBody Success!

Not only did my athletic performance improve but my InBody statistics improved greatly. I kicked my own ass at the gym for 6 weeks. Really, really, really worked hard in the gym and at home focused on gaining lean body mass and blasting fat.

I love a good athletic challenge and I got one. The gym asked us to take 30 classes in 6 weeks. Those of you who know me know when it comes to fitness I like to die trying so I took 90 in 6 weeks. I loved every minute of it.

I made new friends, fell in love with a new, smaller, less packed, cleaner, and close to my house gym called Tru Fitness. Gym shopping in the Roseville area? I recommend Tru Fitness. Call me let's go together. :)

Down to the dirty facts....

Start:

Weight: 141.5lbs
Lean Body Mass: 104.9lbs
Body Fat Mass: 36.6lbs

Body Fat Percent: 25.9% (Normal range for me is 18%-28%)

BMI: 24.3 (Normal range for me is 18.5-25)

End:

Weight: 135.1lbs
Lean Body Mass: 109.8lbs
Body Fat Mass: 25.41lbs

Body Fat Percent: 18.8% (Normal range for me is 18%-28%)

BMI: 23.2 (Normal range for me is 18.5-25)

At the end of the day I am proud of my hard work and happy to see I could work really hard and achieve good goals after such a short 6 week challenge.

We had a blast, ate a lot and saw a Cirque Du Soleil Show! So much fun but two days is all you need in Vegas!!!

President's Fitness Test

6 Weeks ago I took a 6 week challenge at TruFitness in Roseville. The challenge was to do at least 30 classes in 6 weeks. I finished 90!!!!! I am proud of my hard work and commitment to change. The gym let us do a InBody fat/water/lean body mass test before and after. Bummer that the test was a little uncalibrated today at the end of week 6, but hopefully they will have it fixed by next Saturday so I can see my lean body mass gains!

I did take the President's Fitness Challenge before and after and here are the changes :)

Before:

1.5 mile run  ~ 11 min 12 sec
Half Sit-Ups  ~ 68 (In one min)
Push Ups  ~ 32 (As many as you can w/o stopping on your knees)
Sit and Reach   ~  22 inches

After:

1.5 mile run ~ 10 min 14 sec
Half Sit-Ups ~ 84 (In one min)
Push Ups ~ 50 (As many as you can w/o stopping on your knees)
Sit and Reach ~ 22 inches

I feel good about my improvements. My sit and reach didn't change much but its hard to stretch first thing in the morning without a warm up :)

I do also wish the standard for women wasn't knee push-ups. I would have liked to see my change in full ones. Still a change though so I am still happy :)

I plan to do another 6 week challenge after this little weekend getaway to Vegas with the girls to round out a good 12 weeks!!!

I hope to lean out a little by adding more lean body mass and maybe becoming more flexible with more yoga in my life. I always hate doing yoga but I love how I feel after. So worth it :)
