Baby Food Special

Kourtney turned 10 months today! WOW! I can't believe how old she is already! I am loving all the new stages and how much she is changing. This age is so fun. I am still nursing quite a bit although I hope to start sliding off in the next two months as she will be ONE in November.

I have a lot of friends who ask ... Isn't it hard to make baby food? Time consuming? Messy? To that I say I am all about doing whatever is best for your family. For us and baby K, we really enjoy feeding her what we are eating. Since I decided not to start her on solids really until she was about 8 1/2 months. We skipped a lot of creamy baby food and mostly feed her really soft "melt in your mouth" chunks. She loves it because she loves feeding herself. I love it because I feel like she is ready and I can tell she enjoys it.

So I took a few pictures of what I do that really takes no longer the 30min to make a whole weeks worth of food. Plus I know there is no crap in it and all just really good REAL food :)

I also make her baby food because I enjoy it. I enjoy eating healthy and cooking so naturally, this would peek my interest :)

First Boil some good old H2O....

Peal the fruit or veggies if you want to .....

Boil them until soft.....

Chop them up and or mash them to a consistency you think is appropriate for your little one.....

Put them in a container and either refrigerate them or freeze them :)

See that seemed really easy huh? No fancy baby food processor or anything! Of course those are nice but no necessary and in my opinion seam to make more dishes to clean up then even worth it but to each their own.....   :)

More of our trip to MInnesota!

Whew! Well my last blog post about our trip to MN was getting really long so I needed to take a break and continue another day, AND here I am. I can't believe all the fun things we did during our trip and I hate having to pick my favorites to share with you in my blog. If I wrote every little detail I'd be here forever and I wouldn't get to see what other little fun things we could be getting into. I am feeling really happy today as life seems to be swimming along quite nicely right now. I do see some BIG changes coming in the near future but we will talk about those as they get a little closer :)

As for the rest of the MN trip!!!!!

During the ten days Zach was in MN with Kourtney and I we took a mini vaca from our rather large vaca and went up north to Duluth to relax as a family. We stayed right on Lake Superior. Which was nice and would have been even nicer if we would have picked a less foggy day to go. We walked around the Lake Superior Zoo, which was really fun. I think Kourtney loves seeing all the animals. Especially the BIG CATS :)

Here are a few of the memorable pictures from Duluth.

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE THE MN STATE FAIR. Yes, I admit it's not the healthiest relationship but everyone has a downfall and this happens to be one of mine ;) This year like every year we ate the really good fair staples and then we tried a few new things. Everything on a stick and a few not on a stick!

Prepare to feel hungry........

MInnesota Summer 2011

Kourtney and I went to Minnesota for two and a half weeks from Aug 19th -Sept.4th. Zach came one week into the trip and joined us through the end. We did so much and spent a lot of time with my family.

Kourtney got to spend a lot of time with grandma and grandpa.

My not so little, little brother Jordan and I ran my first half marathon since I was pregnant and had Kourtney. We had a great time and it felt uh-mazing to finish under two hours since I had been training so hard!!!

My little sister moved to China the week I was home so it was nice to see her before her trip and have her and Kourtney spend some time together :)

Next on our trips itinerary was my grandparents 70th Wedding Anniversary party! What an amazing event to be able to witness and attend. :)

After we got home and we were all relaxing Kourtney found her way into the other room and decided to show grandma that the clips she got to keep her out of the cleaning supplies were .... well not quite as smart as her :)

Kourtney also had a BLAST trying to catch grandmas cat. It was so cute to watch her try and try to catch the cat! Grandma even got Kourtney to almost say "cat". Really cute if you ask me :)

Kourtney goes to her SECOND TWINS game. Weirdly enough....both against the Detroit Tigers!

Grandpas always get the babies to sleep so peacefully :)

Ah batter batter...... Swing ....and a HOME RUN!!!!!

We did a lot of fun things during our trip. We took Kourtney to Science Museum of Minnesota during the day one day and explored all the fun exhibits they had. We saw a exhibit on babies and their development. It was really interesting to try on the glasses and see what the babies could see, hear, and the specific development tasks at the 1mo, 3mo, 6mo, and 9mo stages. We also saw a weather, dinosaur, light, math, and human body exhibit. Whew! What fun!!!

Later that day we went for a cool off at Minnehaha Falls with my older brother Seneca and his adorable little girl Aurora! So fun watching Kourtney and Aurora play!

Well this blog is getting quit long. So I am going to take a break and finish the rest of our
trip  in the next blog! I hope you all enjoyed the pictures so far!

On a final note we found out during our trip that Kourtney is going to be getting another girl cousin in January! CONGRATULATIONS Kristen & Jer!!!!!!! Kourtney is going to love having another girl cousin so close in age to her :)
