Two Teeth

I have been wondering if Kourtney was going to get her first tooth soon since she has started drooling like crazy in the past two weeks and puts anything in her mouth, and yes I mean anything!

Well it's here, or shall I say they are here! This morning I noticed  not one but TWO little white tops of teeth poking through her bottom gum line. I am so excited! I actually think this is way cooler then her learning to crawl! It's so crazy to see and feel her little teeth. Crazy how fast it seems she is growing up. I know babies get their first tooth at all different ages and some are even born with teeth! However, I am kinda glad she held off and wasn't a really early teether since I am nursing. People tell me it's not a big deal but I am scared! Yup, really really really scared about her biting me. OUCH!
Hopefully she is good to me. If you are taking prayer requests: Please pray for me to have 4 more months of bite free nursing :) Please & Thank you!

I hope to get a picture soon but since it's really just two little peeks coming through it's hard to see right now but I am sure I will get a chance to photograph those pearly whites soon :)

Fun Teething facts! (By parents.com, Justthefactsbaby.com, and webmd.com)

2. Teeth usually come up in pairs.

3. Bottom front teeth (central incisors) typically emerge first, followed by the top ones. Then the molars and the canine teeth (the pointy ones) appear. Last come the back molars.

4. Although parents usually associate "teething" with the few days of discomfort and swelling before and after a tooth erupts, tooth development actually begins in the womb. Primary or "baby" teeth begin to form under the gums during the fifth month of pregnancy and slowly emerge as your infant grows older. But it's not until the teeth start breaking through the gums that things get uncomfortable for baby.

5. Baby should have her full set of 20 primary teeth by age 3. Her permanent teeth won't begin to replace them until she's 4 to 6 years old.

6. A general rule of thumb is that for every 6 months of life, approximately 4 teeth will erupt.

7. Girls generally precede boys in tooth eruption

8. Primary teeth are smaller in size and whiter in color than the permanent teeth that will follow

Dental Care

A wet toothbrush is sufficient for cleaning toddler teeth.

Children need fluoride in their water supply to strengthen tooth enamel.

Don't let your child fall asleep with a bottle or sippy cup. If your child wants to go to bed with a drink, fill a sippy cup with water.

Plan your child's first dental trip at one year.

Start to floss once teeth are touching.

Biting

Infants may bite when teething, or as a way of exploring the world.

By age two, biting is likely due to a lack of emotional control.

Biting usually peaks around age three.

If your toddler bites, remove him from the situation and sit him down quietly.

Teach children other physical ways of expressing frustration, such as jumping up and down.

Sunday Long Run

Sunday I went for my long run of the week like every other Sunday since I started training again for my 1st half marathon since I had Kourtney. This Sunday I had a secret little motivator, my father. My father is a great man and in great shape. I asked my family members to run this half-marathon with me when I go back to MN in Aug. so they are all doing their training now too. I however haven't been running like they have since I obviously just had a large break in my fitness due to having a baby. Don't get me wrong I was active during and shortly after my pregnancy but I wasn't running as much and definitely as long of distances.

I asked my dad how his training was going and he said he ran 7mi in 1:06:05.... that very same day it took me 1:07 to run 6mi. I did have Kourtney with me on the run but I was still like REALLY??? So I finished my training that week out strong and when I laced up my shoes on Sunday I knew I had to beat his time. So, out I went.... ran my butt off and came in at a dead sprint in order to finish at 1:04.45. Not much faster but enough to feel good about it :)

Training is going well. I am having some knee pain but what can you do. :) I am blessed and thankful to have my father be such a great role model and example for me :) Thank you dad! I love you!

Anyone else want to run with our group??? (about 5 people so far)

My New Musical Walker :)

Week 33 or 7 months and three weeks has been soooo fun. We are having a blast watching Kourtney learn to do all sorts of new things. She is moving from couch to couch to chair to anything she can lean on. It is so cute and really fun to watch her as she seems so very proud of herself and all the new things she is doing. I just kinda wish she would SLOW DOWN! I feel like I can barely keep up with all the new things she is getting herself into. I guess I better buckle up for the fast lane anyway since walking is in her near future!

Here is a cute video of her and her little musical walker.

I also wanted to post a few other cute videos of her while I was at it! Enjoy!

Camping & 2nd Wedding Anniversery!

Wow! July has been a busy month so far!  Zach and I have been trying to stay home and relax more but things seem to keep coming up.

Both my parents and my little brother had birthdays this month. Happy Birthday MOM. DAD. & JORDAN!!!!

Zach and I took Kourtney camping for her first time over the 4th of July.  We really had such a great time. Our first night camping Kourtney slept from 8pm-6am. I kept waking up to make sure she was ok since she usually wakes up at least once during the night. I guess she is like her momma and really loves the outdoors! We took the boat out and did some swimming and wake boarding. We had great friends with us and really great weather. We enjoyed Smores and homemade salsa. Yumm-O!

We also got to go to our third Folsom Firecracker Fun Run on. Really fun and this year we ran it instead of walking it! Kourtney had a great time being pushed by all the people in the stroller.

Year TWO!!!!!!

We made it through the first two years of marriage and are still happily married!!! Yea!!! We decided to leave Kourtney with Byron & Vanessa for the night while we got away to Lake Tahoe. We missed her very very much but we also had such a great time being with each other for the first time since we had Kourtney.

:)

Love Love Love...... I Can't wait until next year :)
