One Month Down.... A Lifetime To Go!

Kourtney celebrated her one month today. We went shopping for a wedding present, got moms hair done, and took a little mid day snooze! What a day! We both needed the nap today after the night we had last night. Kourtney has been really easy until last week when we think she had her 3 week growth spurt. She was more hungry and irritable then she has been so far. I am hoping last night was the end of that. I know it probably wasn't but I want to keep my fingers crossed anyway. Well this month has been a lot of diaper changing and laundry. I found out that breastfeeding was WAY harder then I thought it was going to be. Yes, I'm still hanging in there as everyone says "It gets better with time" and it has. I started to pump yesterday so I could get a little store going in my freezer.  We have gone through about 10-12 diapers a day and I asked Santa for more :) She is actually using about 8-10 per day now witch is down a few so this is nice. Zach went back to work last week so this is the second week being home alone during the day and I am getting a better routine down and starting to leave the house more often with Kourtney. I am blessed to have GREAT FRIENDS & FAMILY who have stopped by to help me around the house, help me get out of the house, bring us dinner, love, and flowers. So far no one has offered to come over for the night shift but that's understandable. I think Kourtney is the only one who really likes playing at 1am, 3am, and 5am.  Zach & I are all ready for Christmas. We got a tree while my dad was out visiting a few weeks ago, and concurred our shopping this last weekend :) I think our Christmas dinner will be pizza this year, and I am totally OK with that. Hopefully the whether is nice and we can all go for a Christmas day walk.

I am healing up just right and I am ready to get moving. Baby weight loss program here I come....well slowly now and in a few more weeks when I get the go ahead by my Dr. I will get back into the gym. I really can't wait to go for a run even if it is not very far a first. Running makes me happy and I have missed it :)

Zach is glad to be back at work making that cheddar but misses his princess while he is away. She misses hum too, I can tell by her attempt at a smile when he gets home. Zach has started welding again and made us a nice new piece for our bathroom.

Kourtney's two week appointment went well and her next appointment is the 3rd week of Jan. Where she will be getting her shots :( That should be a fun appointment!

Well the baby is calling and by that I mean screaming so I gotta go.... Merry Christmas to everyone if we don't get a chance to post again before then. :)

Going home with Kourtney

November 23, 2010. Were ready to go home after being in the hospital an extra day so the Dr's could check her blood work because we both were running fevers. After getting instructions on things to do and things not to do with Kourtney and care instructions for me, we were wheeled out to the car and off we went.

We arrived home to a decorated house and lots of friends and family to show there love and support for our new baby Kourtney!

Kourtney Ella Clements

Sadly our Easycrew.org website got hacked and is not fixable so that is why I haven't blogged since the baby has been born. BUT, I am here now to redeem myself and get you all caught up on our little bundle of joy.

November 21st, 2010 our first daughter was born. It has been almost a month and what a month it has been.
More diapers and laundry then I really thought possible. Everyone asks me how the birth went so I am going to start at the very beginning.

November 20th, 2010 I checked into Kaiser Roseville to have my labor induced. With Zach and my mom by my side I showed up at about 4:45pm for our 5pm appointment. I was clam all day, excited but calm. I woke up early to spend the last few hours with Zach without having a baby. Although I knew what was going to happen in the hours ahead of me I couldn't really focus on it. I knew in my head I was leaving with a baby but although I had heard stories of what it was like I had no idea off what my experience was going to be like. I just tried to remain calm and try and enjoy the day.  I remember not being hungry and for me this was weird. I usually have a healthy appetite and on top of that I in the few weeks prior to this day I had been really hungry. I felt hungry all the time in my last few weeks of pregnancy so not being hungry felt kinda weird. After I checked in and filled out some papers they took me to my delivery room. This room was so big. I felt like I needed to have more people with me to fill it up. At about 7pm they gave me a drug called Misoprostol. This was to help soften my cervix and start contractions more naturally before starting Pitocin.  My body was happy and ready for this process as I only needed a small dosage to get things going. Soon I could feel my first contractions. When I checked in and they hooked my up to all the bells and whistles the nurse asked me if i could feel my contractions and I had said no.  It wasn't long after the Misoprostol that I could feel them. Not painful, yet, but I could feel them which put the whole process in perspective for me really fast.  Around 2am the nurse came in and got me started on a drip of Pitocin. I was ready. My great husband had got dinner for us from Chilli's across the street and we had watched Dexter together. I couldn't miss Dexter! LOL.  So the only thing left to do was get the baby out :)  Well, after about 10 hours of contractions and very patient waiting it was time to push. So for 2 1/2 hours I pushed until the baby came. I watched the whole process through a mirror very strategically placed for me. Although, at the end I was so exhausted I couldn't really keep my eyes open because at this point I had been awake for a day and a half. It is now 2:33pm and my beautiful daughter was born. They put her on my chest and it was amazing. They then asked me if I saw if it was a boy or girl and so they pulled her of me for me to see. It was a girl! I as so excited and happy. It was really amazing.  So as they took care of me they took the baby and cleaned her up and  checked her out. She stayed in the same room just on the table next to me. Zach watched over her carefully as they checked her out and put her security bands on. It was so amazing to see his face when she came out and he could see her and hold her for the first time. His face was in love. <3   Now it was time for mom to rest.......They moved me to a room upstairs where we got settled in and got some rest. Well, as much as you can with all the staff in and out and a brand new bundle of joy that needs you like no one has ever needed you before.
